Innovative STEM Programs
PLTW Gateway and PLTW Launch are innovative programs designed by Project Lead The Way (PLTW) to introduce students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
PLTW Launch (K-5)
PLTW Launch is tailored for elementary students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The program sparks curiosity and creativity, laying the foundation for future learning in STEM subjects. Through activities that integrate science, math, engineering, and computer science, students explore real-world challenges and develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. The flexible curriculum is designed to align with students' natural curiosity, encouraging them to ask questions and seek solutions.
PLTW Gateway (6-8)
PLTW Gateway targets middle school students, typically from sixth to eighth grade. This program delves deeper into STEM disciplines, offering courses that cover topics like robotics, computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. With PLTW Gateway, students engage in projects that require them to apply what they learn to solve complex, real-world problems, fostering a deeper understanding of STEM fields and preparing them for more advanced study in high school and beyond.
Hands-On Learning and Empowerment
Both programs emphasize hands-on, project-based learning, empowering students to become confident, innovative thinkers and problem solvers. PLTW Gateway and Launch equip students with the skills and mindset necessary for success in the 21st-century workforce, nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators in STEM.
